Katie over at CreativeCounselor prompted a bunch of us to spend a week on basics patterns in preparation for MeMadeMay 2016- or, you know, just because. For me, basics means REALLY basic. I’m talking tees, tanks, and comfy pants and shorts for the weekend in neutral colors. I spent a couple of days prepping my patterns and cutting my fabric. My plan is to sew by color so I can spend a minimum amount of time changing the thread out on my serger.

My week went a little awry with two pattern tests (New Horizons Riviera Raglan and the Ladies’ Seaside Dress from Seamingly Smitten, releasing soon) and a strike-off sew from Smoogie, but I did manage to get 6 tops made. I was hoping to also squeeze in a jogger review, but I’ll have to take care of that this week instead. Here’s my round-up:
WHITE: La Bella Donna tee by Love Notions and Aurora Tank by Seamwork
GREY: La Bella Donna tee by Love Notions and Aurora Tank by Seamwork (I swear I’m not in a rut)
BLACK: Plantain Tee (free!) by Deer & Doe and What You Love Tank (Mind Body Sew, designer now defunct)
Did I mention I’m doing Me Made May this year? Check me out @DoodleNumber5 on Instagram– I’m going to attempt daily posts there with my mostly me-made wardrobe (and James too on the days he’s with me and cooperative).
Great job! What pattern are those lovely purple pants? 🙂
Those are my Urban Sweats from Wardrobe by Me- one of the 2 pairs I made during testing. I love them! The purple is French terry from PurpleSeamstress
